Meet the Team
Managing Director
I joined Honey Barrett in 2002 as a Junior Manager under the mentorship of Liz Densley and have worked predominantly in the healthcare sector ever since. Today, I head up the specialist medical department while also serving as Managing Director of Honey Barrett, and as Vice Chair and Secretary for AISMA (the Association of Specialist Medical Accountants).
I’m passionate about the services we provide and take a very hands-on approach, overseeing all GP practice accounts and running annual practice meetings. I regularly advise on partner changes, disputes, mergers, budgets, superannuation, premises, tax planning and many other areas, as well as writing a regular column for AISMA Newsline.
What I enjoy most is the added value I can bring – not just for the clients I support directly, but also through my work with AISMA to champion the profession nationally.
Director
I’ve been part of the Honey Barrett family for over 50 years, and one of the real joys of my career has been walking alongside clients through so many stages of life. I’ve seen young doctors start out in their first roles, grow into partnerships or consultancy, and eventually step into retirement – and I’ve also had the privilege of supporting their families and other personal tax clients, often across generations.
These days I mainly look after retired clients (and frequently their children too), guiding them through annual tax obligations as well as more specialist areas such as capital gains tax and inheritance tax. I don’t usually take on many new ongoing clients now, but I’m always happy to help with one-off projects, and I continue to provide support and continuity for our medical department and beyond.
What I treasure most are the trusting, long-term relationships I’ve built with clients and families over the years. Many have kindly recommended us to friends, colleagues and children, which I see as the greatest compliment. That trust, loyalty and sense of connection are why, even after all this time, I still look forward to coming into work each day.
Director
I began my career with Honey Barrett in 2010 as a work experience intern while studying Accounting and Finance at university. After qualifying as an ACA in 2015, I built broad experience across corporate, medical, and personal accountancy, and in 2023 I was proud to be promoted to Director.
As the daughter of a GP, I have an appreciation of the challenges that can be faced by medical professionals. This insight drives my commitment to providing thoughtful, tailored support to each of my clients.
Based in our Bexhill office, I manage a varied portfolio of personal and corporate clients, providing tax advice, planning and compliance, as well as overseeing our bookkeeping department. More recently I have also been involved in McCloud pension calculations and submissions.
With a strong specialism in corporates and medical clients, I’m committed to giving clear, timely advice and practical solutions. I’m ambitious and hardworking, and I enjoy supporting both our clients and our growing team to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Client Manager
I joined Honey Barrett at the start of 2024, bringing with me previous experience working in GP practices as finance support. That background has been invaluable in my role, as it allows me to combine technical expertise with a real understanding of the pressures healthcare professionals face.
I work closely with GP practices and partners, from preparing accounts and tax returns to advising on VAT and other complex areas. My aim is to take the stress out of financial responsibilities so clients can focus on the vital work they do.
What I enjoy most is giving busy clients peace of mind that their accounts are in safe hands, and providing clarity in areas that can otherwise feel daunting.
Client Manager
I’ve been part of the Honey Barrett medical team since 2021, specialising in supporting salaried GPs, consultants and locum doctors with their tax and NHS pension needs. I particularly enjoy working with medics early in their careers, helping them feel confident and informed about their finances.
Guiding clients through complex pension records or certificates and seeing their confidence grow is hugely rewarding for me. My focus is always on reassurance, clarity, and ongoing support so they can concentrate on their work and their lives.
I’m proud to be part of a collaborative team that shares knowledge and keeps up to date with the latest developments in medical tax, ensuring our clients always receive the best possible advice.
Tax Team Accountant
I joined Honey Barrett’s Bexhill office in 2023, bringing many years of accountancy experience and a keen interest in developing my expertise with medical professionals. Working with doctors and practitioners has added a new and rewarding dimension to my career.
I focus on building long-term relationships, supporting clients throughout the year with annual accounts, tax returns, and pension certificates. I enjoy finding solutions to queries and giving clients the reassurance that their financial matters are being handled with care.
For me, it’s all about helping clients feel confident and supported, so they can focus on the important work they do for others.
Specialist Medical Accountant
I joined Honey Barrett in 2003, having already worked in accountancy since 1998, and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2006. My main role is preparing GP practice accounts in a clear, easy-to-understand format, including benchmarking statistics that help monitor and improve practice performance.
Our specialist healthcare team prides itself on accuracy and attention to detail, and I enjoy identifying opportunities for extra income or cost savings that can make a real difference to practices.
It’s rewarding to provide reliable figures that give GPs and practice managers confidence in their decision-making, and I’m proud to work alongside colleagues who share the same commitment to excellence.
Client Manager
I first trained at Honey Barrett in the 1990s and rejoined the firm in 2020, drawn back by its supportive culture and strong team spirit. What I enjoy most about my role is supporting clients who give so much of themselves to others and helping to ease the pressure of their financial responsibilities.
I manage a portfolio of NHS Consultants, Locum GPs and corporate entities, preparing accounts and tax returns and offering practical advice tailored to their circumstances. By understanding the unique challenges of the healthcare sector, I help clients stay compliant, optimise their financial position, and feel more in control.
I’m also a Xero Certified Advisor, helping clients use technology to simplify and strengthen their financial management.
Specialist Medical Accountant
I’ve been with Honey Barrett since 2009, having qualified and worked in another accountancy firm for 10 years prior. Whilst working at Honey Barrett, I value the opportunity to combine technical expertise with meaningful client relationships. Supporting medical professionals is incredibly rewarding, and I enjoy being part of a team that makes a real difference for clients.
My role focuses on preparing annual accounts and supporting dispensing practices with VAT returns. I also look for opportunities to uncover savings or additional income, helping practices make the most of their resources.
Being part of the Honey Barrett medical team means working alongside colleagues who share the same dedication to accuracy, support and client care – and I’m proud to contribute my skills to that.
